Marie Pauly | Owner/Floral Designer

Tim Pauly | Co-Owner

With every wedding comes a love story, so it’s only natural that I share our own love story that started at a gas pump in 1977 and later grew into a business that celebrates “loves truest language” – flowers.

Right from the beginning Tim and I were inseparable and it was obvious we would be together forever. After marrying in 1980, we moved to the small western suburbs to raise our children and opened “The Wildflower” shop in 1989, which specialized in silk arrangements and gifts. Trends changed and The Wildflower slowly rebranded into Wild Orchid and focused specifically on fresh floral design. From weddings to sympathy arrangements; Wild Orchid grew with referrals and to this day prides itself on satisfied client referrals. I strive to treat each couple as if they were my own family and work to make their big day everything they dreamed of and more. My better-half, Tim, serves as the backbone to Wild Orchid with his behind the scenes dedication to the business. He helps with wedding day logistics to make sure everything arrives en-tact and also creates custom decor elements for various events.

Working side-by-side is what we enjoy best; each bringing our own view and expertise to any event that we handle. At the end of the day, I live for the bride’s reaction to seeing her bouquet for the first time, using every last flower anyway I can to add to the wedding day, and staying in touch with past couples. It’s always fun to hear how their lives have progressed as a married couple!

Aubrey Secrest | Marketing/Floral Assistant

Aubrey began her journey into weddings when she was five after playing in her mom’s floral shop formerly known as The Wildflower. From there she assisted with various Wild Orchid weddings and later began a wedding career as a Wedding Consultant. Mixed in there was a little Radio Promotion fun, Public Relations work for a small Chicago firm, and event planning for a delicious Italian restaurant. In 2011 she met her future husband Nick, fell in love, married, and moved away to Iowa where she started Bride Meets Wedding, a bridal blog. Four years later and now a mom; Aubrey is back in Illinois and helps with the family floral business. When she’s not helping out with social media posts or creating promotional material you can find her changing diapers or having fun at toddler play group. She loves attending floral classes with her mom to learn more about the industry, and helping with wedding day set-up. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, and is a certified wedding planner through the Wedding Planning Institute!
